Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a PROGRAM COORDINATOR II for the School of Nursing to work under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature. Carries out established program objectives and directives. Follows established guidelines or protocols. Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments. May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives. May supervise support staff. May act as a communication liaison and special events planner. Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students. May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties. May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission. May handle data management.
- Transports supplies and materials to and from various care delivery sites.
- Assist staff with loading and unloading supplies and materials from the vehicle.
- Performs daily operational checks of the vehicle and follows all UAB rules and regulations regarding operation of a vehicle for UAB business.
- Ensures the vehicle maintains appropriate fuel, water, electrical charging capacity, and operational readiness.
- Schedules routine and required maintenance for the mobile health unit.
- Ensure gray wastewater is emptied as needed.
- Maintains awareness of infection-control practices and supports sanitation procedures when needed.
- Assists with safety drills, emergency response protocols, and onsite operational support during unexpected situations.
- Supports traffic flow, site setup, signage placement, intake areas, and patient access activities. Acts in a caring and courteous manner toward all in the following ways: uses positive interpersonal skills to address concerns of patients, other staff, faculty, and guests; assists promptly, references appropriate procedures calmly and courteously; acts professionally and confidentially concerning all.
- Greets and registers patients and assists with patient sign-in, documentation, and updates within the electronic health record system while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Collects co-pays and deductibles from patients as needed.
- Acts as a liaison between the Mobile Health Program and UAB Fleet Operations for vehicle maintenance and repair coordination. Maintains current knowledge of UAB Hospital, Health System, and School of Nursing policies, procedures, and regulations.
