Position Summary

UAB Temporary Services is seeking dependable, customer focused Training Support Specialists for a large scale training initiative supporting Tuscaloosa UAB Hospital entities during the transition to the Epic electronic health record system. The position provides onsite classroom, administrative, and logistical support to help training sessions run smoothly. Specialists greet participants, assist with check in and basic computer access, prepare training spaces, and refer technical or Epic workflow questions to the appropriate staff. This role does not provide Epic instruction, clinical guidance, or advanced system troubleshooting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide onsite support for scheduled employee training sessions at designated UAB locations.

· Greet participants, provide directions and general information, and assist with attendance and sign in processes.

· Set up classrooms, workstations, materials, and supplies before and between sessions.

· Assist participants with basic computer functions, including signing in and out of workstations and accessing assigned training systems.

· Refer login problems, technical issues, and Epic questions to training staff or designated technical support.

· Support instructors with classroom logistics and routine administrative tasks.

· Monitor supplies and materials and help maintain organized, welcoming training spaces.

· Transport materials or supplies between training areas and complete related errands as assigned.

· Communicate participant concerns, scheduling issues, and operational needs to training leadership.

· Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Epic training initiative.

Pay Rates

Monday - Friday

Every other Saturdays:

Day shift 6;30am - 2:30pm: - $20.00 per hour.

Evening shifts 2:30pm - 10:00pm -$25.00 per hour

Assignment Details

This temporary project assignment is expected to last approximately 4–5 months. Day, evening, and Saturday shifts may be available at designated training locations based on the Epic training schedule. Candidates should be available to work the assigned schedule and location.

Health Requirements

Employees assigned to this role will be required to receive a flu shot and complete a one step TB test in accordance with applicable UAB health requirements.

Role Scope

This position supports training operations and basic participant access. Epic Superusers and designated training or IT staff provide workflow guidance, instruction, and technical troubleshooting. No supervisory or budget responsibility is assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma or GED required.


  • Previous experience in customer service, call center, administrative support, front desk, office support, or a similar customer-facing environment.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.

  • Comfortable working with computers and providing basic assistance with functions such as logging in and out.

  • Ability to follow instructions and established processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of employees.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain assigned work schedules.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a larger team.

Preferred Skills
Experience supporting training sessions, events, classrooms, orientations, or large groups.
Administrative or call center experience in a healthcare, educational, or corporate environment.
Experience assisting customers or employees with basic computer-related questions.
Ability to remain professional and helpful while managing multiple requests and priorities.
