Description

The Executive Director-Institutional Effectiveness is a hands-on manager responsible for institutional reporting, data management, and compliance-related research activities. The position develops and validates SQL queries, oversees data extraction and reporting processes, supports accreditation and regulatory reporting requirements, and provides accurate institutional data and analyses to internal and external stakeholders. This role also helps ensure data quality, consistency, and adherence to university reporting standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System submissions, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accreditation documentation, state and federal compliance reporting, and external survey requests.
  • Prepare standardized institutional datasets for internal and external reporting needs.
  • Support academic and administrative assessment processes through data analysis, reporting templates, evidence review, and summary reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate SQL queries and data extraction processes.
  • Participate in data migration and new software implementation by validating data and documenting reporting logic.
  • Serve as a liaison between functional offices and Information Technology regarding reporting, data access, system logic, and data validation needs.
(Annual Salary: $109,250 - $177,530)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, computer science, higher education administration, social science, and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.
Professional experience in data analysis, reporting, institutional research, assessment, business intelligence, or a closely related analytical function. Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools. Strong expertise in data analysis, reporting logic, documentation, data validation, and business-rule interpretation. Proven ability to prepare clear, accurate, and decision-ready reports, dashboards, and briefing materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings, methodologies, and governance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality, documentation, and responsible use of institutional data. Familiarity with higher education data systems such as Colleague, Banner, Slate, Raiser's Edge, learning management systems, or similar platforms. Knowledge of institutional research methodologies and data reporting requirements in higher education.
Master's degree in a related field preferred. Experience with Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System reporting preferred. Experience supporting Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accreditation, institutional effectiveness, assessment, or compliance reporting. Experience in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, survey research, or program evaluation. Familiarity with data privacy laws such as FERPA, GDPR, or other relevant regulations. Experience in BANNER Experience developing documentation, training materials, governance processes, or communication strategies that support responsible institutional data use. Demonstrated understanding of data governance concepts, including data stewardship, data definitions, data quality, data standards, documentation, data access, and responsible data use. Demonstrated experience managing professional staff, teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives, including responsibility for setting priorities, coordinating work, monitoring progress, and ensuring completion of deliverables.
