Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), School of Medicine-Montgomery, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
The Clinical Research Coordinator will recruit, screen, and enroll patients according to study protocols and manage and obtain informed consent. Performs follow-up and collects, records, and enters participant data. Responsible for scheduling trial visits, coordination of lab work as required for the protocol, prepares for study site visits, assists with IRB protocol submissions, and adheres to study protocol guidelines, HIPAA, and regulatory protocols. Acts as a liaison between PI, clinical staff, and study agencies. May supervise clinical staff.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Works with the PI to develop study recruitment strategies, screen referred candidates for appropriateness, guiding patients through Informed Consent.
Coordinates patient visits, follow-ups, and lab visits.
Serves as the principal liaison between the study agency, investigators, regulatory agencies, and study participants.
Addresses day-to-day logistical issues for patients and investigators.
Responsible for recording, reviewing, and entering patient and study data.
Prepares and submits documents to the IRB.
Reports adverse events, tracks study protocols, maintains regulatory guidelines, and ensures adherence to clinical and regulatory compliance and practices
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
