Description
DUTIES: Support and administer SQL and No-SQL database engines, including but not limited to RDBMS systems, file-based DB systems, etc. Responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of said systems. Responsible for patching, backup and recovery, data imports, exports, data integrations with other systems including file loads, direct connections and API integrations to and/or from similar systems. Grants and revokes access to said systems. Makes recommendations, identifies and follows best practices for data management, data access, data recoverability and high availability. Submits firewall exceptions for access to and from said systems. Monitors activity and looks for vulnerabilities for said systems. Ensures systems are in compliance and software components (OS, application, web tier, etc.) are within their supported lifecycle. Interfaces with internal IT personnel as well as customers outside of IT throughout the university. Coordinates with stakeholders internal and external to IT for project work and maintenance work. Take calls after hours.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field and six years of related experience as database administrator, architect, designer, or developer including Database Management, SQL, basic networking understanding, SSH, Database Administrative UI/tool (SQL+, Toad, DBeaver, Management Studio, etc.)
