INSTRUCTIONAL LABORATORY COORDINATOR

General Responsibilities:
Serve as primary section contact for assigned laboratory sections. Deliver 8-10 contact hours per week of lab instruction, demonstrations, and student support. Prepare and set up laboratory sessions, including reagents, materials, and equipment. Ensure all assigned lab sections are fully operational and prepared on schedule. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure functionality. Coordinate with the instructor of record to meet course-specific lab needs. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to support lab operations. Maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards. Organize and maintain laboratory spaces for cleanliness and efficiency. Document preparation procedures, inventory usage, and lab readiness activities. Support continuous improvement of lab setup processes and workflows.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Experience teaching or assisting in undergraduate biology laboratory courses.
2. Experience preparing laboratory materials at scale for multi-section courses.
3. Familiarity with common undergraduate biology techniques (microscopy, molecular and cell biology, genetics, physiology, microbiology, or related).
4. Experience with chemical inventory management and hazardous waste protocols.
5. Experience coordinating with faculty or instructors of record on course-specific laboratory needs.
6. Experience supporting continuous improvement of laboratory workflows and operations.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $43,890 – $71,320
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related discipline
• Three (3) years of related experience in laboratory operations, instructional laboratory support, or a comparable role
• Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory equipment, reagents, and instructional materials
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulatory compliance
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
