The Biostatistician is a professional role that designs and implements complex statistical analyses, guides data collection processes, and collaborates closely with research teams on study design and methodology. This position requires a strong command of biostatistical techniques and the ability to make independent decisions on routine analytical issues. Is responsible for ensuring the scientific validity of statistical approaches, preparing detailed reports, and contributing to the writing of research papers and grant proposals.
This position will primarily provide statistical expertise in study design and implementation, oversee statistical analyses, and collaborate with investigators in manuscript presentations, grant applications, and presentation of findings.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborates with investigators to determine study design, contributes to protocol development, writes statistical analysis plans, performs statistical analysis and inference and writes and presents reports summarizing findings including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Develops systems for monitoring the quality of clinical data. Ensures high-quality statistical support is provided for clinical trials, registries and basic research through the use of advanced statistical skills and knowledge of clinical research.
Maintains expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred
SAS, R, Stata, or Python. Data quality control, database structures, and integration of clinical, survey, and electronic health record (EHR) data.
Experience collaborating on grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations in academic or clinical research settings.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain statistical concepts to multidisciplinary research team.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively within team science environments.
Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855
Qualifications
Education
Doctorate degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience
OR Master’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience
OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
