General Responsibilities

  • To design and implement relational database management systems (RDMS) for retrieval and reporting of clinical information.

  • To collect, enter and statistically analyze clinical data and prepare ad hoc and recurring reports for publication or presentation for a specific department or unit.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements and maintains clinical-based relational database management systems. Ensures operation and maintenance of departmental systems for data organization, collection, retrieval, and reporting purposes.

  • Develops methods for tracking and reporting data and monitors incoming and outgoing data to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory agency policy.

  • Researches and collects information, enters data into established external data marts specific to clinical discipline and retrieves as necessary.

  • Performs a variety of statistical analyses and summarizes results.

  • Prepares ad hoc or recurring reports for publication or presentation on a periodic basis or as needed

  • Works on the data quality assurance efforts of the HIV cohort database

  • Tracks and monitors incoming and outgoing data requests to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory agency standards.

  • Collaborates with HIV investigators in the production of datasets for research.

  • Works with data team in the data transformation efforts of cohort datasets for sharing with multiple national and international projects (CNICS, the North American AIDS Cohort Collaboration on Research and Design [NA-ACCORD], and the Antiretroviral Therapy Cohort Collaboration [ART-CC])

  • Collaborates on efforts for clinical presentations of lymphoma, myocardial infarction, pulmonary disease, and stroke in HIV patients as part of collaborative multisite cohort project with the CNICS scientific network.

  • Collaborates with leadership in improving, documenting and developing QA processes and training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred

  • Medical knowledge (preferred).

  • Clinical data processing and electronic chart review.

  • Degrees preferred: Computer Science, Statistics, Psychology, Math, Health Informatics, or a related field

Salary Range: $45,395 - $73,770

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field

  • And two years of related experience required.

  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
