Position Summary
The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Ped - Neonatology, is seeking a dedicated Researcher I to join their team. This position will monitor colony health and respond to any issues identified by animal care staff or veterinarians throughout the day. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including ordering supplies, maintaining laboratory inventory, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and available for research use. With appropriate training, assist with ongoing animal and in vitro experiments to support the laboratory's research initiatives.
General Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, to perform various support functions in a research laboratory.
To maintain equipment, computer database and lab supplies
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Breeding management, genotyping, preparation and setup of experiments, and conducting hyperoxia exposure experiments in the early morning hours.
Responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance of the laboratory mouse colony.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Range: $ 15.00- $19.66
Qualifications
Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
