General Responsibilities:
To conduct, manage, and document complex investigations of various types in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner, including but not limited to, investigations of complaints of sexual misconduct, discrimination, retaliation regarding protected classes, gender-based assault, harassment, violations of UAB policies and procedures, and other regulatory matters. To play an important role in the University's education, prevention, and response efforts related to gender, sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected categories.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To conduct, manage, and document complex investigations of various types in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner, including but not limited to investigations of complaints of sexual misconduct, discrimination, retaliation regarding protected classes, gender-based assault, harassment, violations of UAB policies and procedures, and other regulatory matters.
2. Provides guidance and training for new team members.
3. Manages initial and ongoing communication and official notices to parties involved in an investigation as well as administrators involved in the process.
4. Explains investigations, as needed, in adjudication hearings, to others involved in the adjudication processes as well as relevant stakeholders.
5. Stays abreast of changes to related laws, rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
6. Provides progress reports of active cases.
7. Provides conflict resolution services, including conflict coaching, mediation/conferencing facilitation, and problem-solving.
8. To play an important role in the University's education, prevention, and response efforts related to gender, sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected categories.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $63,875 – $93,150
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling Education, Employment Law or a related field required and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
