The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Cardiovascular Disease, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Possesses excellent communication skills and be able to converse in a clear manner with subjects over the phone, and be able to explain the study to potential subjects.
Initiation, modification, amendments, and continuing review of IRB protocols.
Identifies and engages with potential participants for vascular and cardiovascular research studies and clinical trials.
Data entry and meticulous paper and electronic record and file keeping.
The main focus of this position is to work on multi-site research by the VA. Therefore, all candidates must pass a VA background check and drug screen.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
Prior experience in a clinical or laboratory setting while obtaining informed consent.
Possesses excellent organizational skills, especially with subject follow-up and reminders.
Familiar with rules and regulations governing human subjects research (federal and institutional).
REDCap - creation and/or use of this interface.
Must be motivated and able to work independently once trained.
- Must be able to work well with others and be able to communicate effectively.
