Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with campus maintenance and private vendors for daily upkeep, operation, cleanliness, and appearance of all on-campus dining facilities.
2. Make recommendations for necessary repairs, renovations, and capital expenditures.
3. Interview, train, assist with evaluation, and supervise all student facility support personnel.
4. Coordinate and manage renovations and capital improvement projects for all housing facilities.
5. Serve as on-call maintenance contact for all professional and student housing staff. Perform routine health safety inspections with Residence Life Coordinators.
6. Work in tandem with UAB Occupational Health Safety to execute biannual fire safety drills in all facilities.
7. Maintain and monitor electronic work request system to correct daily maintenance issues.
8. Assist in development and implementation of policy procedures to ensure proper safety, security, and upkeep of all facilities within the UAB Housing community.
9. Prepare and maintain regular reports of work completed, average completion times, repairs/projects pending and status, and explanations for long lead items.
10. Ensure that residential students are satisfied with the level and thoroughness of work completed.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay Range: $18.35 – $20.91
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Preferences:
• 1-3 years of facilities experience at various levels to completely understand what is required of this position.
• If no Housing experience, at least three years of non-housing experience in a maintenance, skilled crafts, or facility management role.
