Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
The Sleep, Circadian and Neuroimaging (SCN) lab is looking for a clinical research coordinator (level I) with experience in clinical research. The responsibilities encompass recruitment, screening, consent, study coordination, data collection, and analysis.
MVR required as part of the hiring process.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Conducts study screening and visits, data entry, organization, and analyses.
Handles patient recruitment, screening, consent, and retention.
Manages laboratory inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking supplies.
Identifies and resolves operational bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Implements improvements to lab processes and workflows.
Schedules participants' visits and coordinates between participants, the study team, and other clinical teams.
Manages data entry and storage.
Helps with the collection of saliva and blood samples.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
Psychology or Neuroscience degree and 1 year of experience preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of related scientific and clinical terminology.
Laboratory Operations Management.
Organizational skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Ability to problem-solve.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of clinical research conduct according to GCP throughout the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, collecting and recording data, scheduling visits, and coordinating lab and fieldwork.
