The UAB Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a Program Manager II to support the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education's mission to offer training and research development programs, promote health system science, and facilitate the advancement of health outcomes and population health research methods. This position will manage a large and complex scope of programming spanning the Training, Research Methods, and Research Development center domains.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs.
Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters.
Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing.
May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding.
May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Manages annual cycle of activities for UAB Health Services Research Training Program and COERE Scholars; contributes to extramural grant proposals and reporting
Manages event planning and execution for Office of Research Synthesis annual short course, annual Methods Symposium, annual Data Day, and ad hoc team events and meetings
Builds and maintains center website, newsletter, listserv; develops and executes communication strategies to promote center programs and events
Serves as liaison to Department and Division regarding center facilities
Provides logistical support to COERE's GRIT cohorts and coaches; Order center supplies and manage center p-card
Determining how to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and a robust number of stakeholders; problem solving independently and recommending course of action; being able to look to the future and envision opportunities for the Center's growth and then identifying national funding announcements to enable Center growth

Salary Range: $51,270 – $74,000
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
