Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Clinical Research Support Enterprise, is seeking a Clinical Research Administrator III.

This role will provide operational support for the activation of industry-sponsored, federally funded, and investigator-initiated clinical trials managed by the Clinical Research Support Enterprise (CReSt). This role supports investigators and research teams throughout the study start-up process, including feasibility review, site qualification visits, document routing, ancillary services set-up, budget development assistance, study activation coordination, OnCore and Epic study entry and integration, and overall operational readiness. The position collaborates closely with CReSt finance, systems, study coordination, and leadership teams to promote efficient and timely trial activation.

General Responsibilities

  • To act as a resource for faculty and staff regarding administrative duties for industry and sponsored clinical research.

  • To serve as an informational and referral resource for the clinical research community.

  • To work with necessary parties to identify compliance, legal, IP and business/financial risk.

  • To manage accounts across all studies as needed.

  • To process and analyze reports in OnCore, as needed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Supports structured feasibility assessments for new clinical trial opportunities, including logistics, financial, and enrollment evaluations.

  2. Assists with the development, review, and refinement of clinical trial budgets.

  3. Coordinates and tracks study start-up milestones from feasibility intake through activation.

  4. Supports site qualification visit preparation and follow-up activities.

  5. Enters and maintains study calendars in OnCore and supports Epic study build, entry, and integration processes.

  6. Maintains internal tracking tools, dashboards, and activation metrics.

  7. Collaborates with CReSt finance, systems, study coordination, and leadership teams to facilitate timely activation.

  8. Serves as a resource to investigators and research staff regarding the administrative aspects of the study start-up.

  9. Contributes to workflow improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $55,180 - $89,670

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification preferred.
