Description
To direct the administrative and financial affairs of the Heersink School of Medicine (HSOM) Dean s Office and the Department of Medical Education including undergraduate medical education, continuing medical education, international medical education and portions of graduate medical education. To monitor adherence to established guidelines, policies and procedures. To ensure all financial operations are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. To establish and maintain accurate financial management databases. To make decisions regarding the reporting and use of financial resources. To provide financial guidance and to coordinate integration with University accounting system. To represent and speak on behalf of the Executive Director of Finance and Senior Executive Officer of Finance and Administration of the Heersink School of Medicine on all financial matters. To be responsible for financial analysis/forecasting/budgeting. To direct staff as necessary to ensure completion of projects and proper functioning of business and program operations. To use a variety of software in performance of the functions of the title including Microsoft Office, Oracle and others as designated.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides financial oversight for all University HSOM UWIRCs (University-Wide Interdisciplinary Research Centers).
• Manages annual RCM modeling for the HSOM Dean's office including revenue and expense allocation across the school.
• Responsible for data collection of budget information.
• Provides oversight for all HSOM departments on budget development.
• Manages, reports and plans investment funds.
• Disburses and manages all chair packages and reinvestments to departments.
• Review and oversight of School's commitment database.
• Develops educational resources and updates on various compliance and finance topics.
• Acts as a resource and provides training to HSOM financial roles across the School.
• Provide support for the financial affairs of the Department of Medical Education.
• Provides financial oversight and support for the HSOM's scholarship accounts.
• Partners with the scholarship and financial support manager and the development director to support the School's substantial scholarship program.
• Represents the HSOM at meetings and committees including serving as liaison to the Committee for Medical Education (LCME) annual accreditation financial survey.
• Prepares and submits accreditation financial survey.
• Develop annual operating budget for HSF HSOM department and regular reconciliation and management of those funds.
• Manages the financial staff in the HSOM's Dean's Office.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Salary range: $120,445 - $195,725
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
