General Responsibilities:
The Program Director II position is responsible for community engagement, program coordination, project management, or related work. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with diverse stakeholders. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proven ability to facilitate meetings, manage group dynamics, and resolve conflict professionally. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain documentation. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and provide timely updates. Professionalism, reliability, and strong follow-through. Ability to represent UAB with cultural sensitivity and executive presence. Willingness to learn and manage administrative tasks related to contracts, invoices, reimbursements, and event coordination.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Manage project workflows, oversee community engagement activities, support administrative and fiscal processes, and represent the Center in meetings with community partners, campus stakeholders, and external organizations.
2. This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently while supporting departmental priorities.
3. Lead and coordinate key engagement initiatives, programs, and partnerships across the Center.
4. Support departmental strategy, planning, and implementation under the direction of the Director of Partnerships Engagement.
5. Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including nonprofits, faith-based organizations, schools, healthcare partners, government agencies, businesses, media, and residents.
6. Plan and execute community meetings, advisory boards, outreach events, and training.
7. Facilitate discussions; read group dynamics; manage conflict professionally; and ensure culturally sensitive, community-centered engagement.
8. Communicate research-related information clearly to diverse audiences using accessible language.
9. Support administrative and operational functions, including event pre-approvals, contracts, invoices, reimbursements, and vendor coordination. - Monitor project timelines, deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements.
10. Develop reports, presentations, communication materials, and stakeholder correspondence.
11. Represent the Center and research teams in community and campus meetings.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range: $60,835 – $98,855
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
