DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT (2) – Heersink School of Medicine/UAB Medicine

Position Summary:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Director of Development for the Heersink School of Medicine/UAB Medicine team. The primary responsibilities are to develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating, and successfully soliciting individuals, corporations and foundations and grateful patients for major gifts. The position will work with the Department Chairs and others within the Departments/Divisions to manage the planning and execution of appropriate cultivation and stewardship special events, including planning and hosting visits by donors and their representatives.
The Director of Development will support specific units on the team. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Development II.
This position is full-time, hybrid eligible after the probationary period.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement programs that inform and cultivate individuals, corporations and foundations with the capability of making major gifts to UAB.
• Work with physician and medical faculty in devising plans to cultivate and solicit grateful patients.
• Collaborate closely with the Office of Advancement central services teams to ensure seamless alignment and confirmation that all processes are followed across gift and records administration, prospect research, data management, communications, and stewardship processes.
Salary Pay Range: $70,425 – $97,000
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Two years major gift experience preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
After-hours work and travel required.
