Description


The Maintenance Warehouse Worker supports the daily operations of the Hospital Maintenance warehouse and supply rooms. This position ensures maintenance technicians receive the materials, tools, and equipment needed to complete work orders, respond to emergencies, and maintain building systems. The role assists with inventory control, receiving and stocking, issuing materials, and maintaining organized storage environments. It works closely with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure efficient and uninterrupted support for maintenance operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
I. Inventory Support

  • Pulls, issues, and distributes materials, parts, tools, and supplies to technicians.
  • Restocks shelves, bins, and satellite supply rooms.
  • Tracks stock levels for frequently used items (filters, belts, valves, breakers, hardware, etc.) and notifies the Warehouse Coordinator of shortages.

Assists with inventory counts and cycle counts.

II. Receiving & Stocking

  • Receives deliveries, inspects shipments, and verifies quantities against purchase orders.
  • Labels, organizes, and stores incoming materials in designated areas.
  • Moves stock to supply rooms within the Main Hospital, North Pavilion, Highlands, Rehab Pavilion, and other assigned locations.
  • Stages materials for upcoming projects, outages, and preventive maintenance tasks.

III. Tool & Equipment Management

  • Issues, logs, and tracks shared tools, ladders, and small equipment.
  • Checks tools and equipment for damage; reports necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Maintains a clean and organized tool storage area.

IV. Documentation & Systems

  • Documents materials issued using the FSI work order system.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate inventory records and reorder needs.
  • Files packing slips with corresponding purchase orders.
  • Supports the Warehouse Coordinator with data entry and vendor communication.

V. Shop & Warehouse Organization

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and all supply rooms.
  • Disposes of scrap materials and packaging following recycling and environmental guidelines.
  • Organizes rotating stock such as HVAC filters, lighting supplies, plumbing repair parts, and electrical components.

VI. Customer Service & Technician Support

  • Provides prompt, helpful service to technicians and supervisors.
  • Assists during urgent repairs, outages, and emergencies by quickly gathering required materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by division management or supervision.

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

MVR Requirement:

Must meet University underwriting guidelines for driving University vehicles.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Minimum age 21.
  • At least three years of driving experience.
  • Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Previous warehouse, supply room, inventory, or maintenance support experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely move materials and equipment.
  • Experience with data entry and use of computer systems or handheld devices.
  • Basic computer skills; willingness to learn FSI inventory/work order software.
  • Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with tools, hardware, or maintenance terminology preferred.
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
