Description
This role manages Dispatchers and other jobs working across four rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, overseeing all staffing, scheduling, and personnel actions. It serves as a liaison between Communications, other departments, and external agencies such as Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (ACJIC) and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), ensuring compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) standards. Additionally, the role administers and maintains communication systems, validates data, analyzes incident information, and assists with policy development and equipment management.
Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirements. Must have completed an Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) dispatch training course OR must complete an Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) dispatch training course within 90 days of hire.
