The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Head Football Coach. As a cornerstone of UAB Athletics, the football program competes in the American Athletic Conference and upholds the highest standards of integrity, academic excellence, and athletic achievement. The Head Coach will shape the future of Blazer Football by driving competitive success, fostering student-athlete development, and building a culture of accountability and respect.

UAB Football has a proud tradition of resilience and achievement with multiple conference championships and bowl appearances, including Conference USA Champions in 2018 and 2020. The program benefits from world-class facilities such as Protective Stadium and the state-of-the-art Football Operations Center, providing an exceptional environment for training, performance, and fan engagement. With strong institutional support and a passionate fan base, UAB offers a unique opportunity to lead a program poised for continued growth and national prominence.

This role encompasses strategic leadership across all facets of the program, including recruiting top-tier student athletes, hiring and mentoring assistant coaches, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and conference regulations. The Head Coach will manage program operations, oversee budget planning and expense control, and represent UAB in media engagements, alumni events, and community initiatives. With a commitment to excellence on and off the field, the Head Coach will advance UAB’s mission to compete at the highest level while preparing student-athletes for lifelong success.
