Summary:
To manage the activities and day-to-day operations of a complex educational program, which may include clerkship, medical student, resident and/or fellowship programs. To manage the entire scope of the selection process, including developing and proposing selection criteria, prescreening, etc. To ensure compliance with all national and university-related accreditation requirements for the program. To oversee the maintenance of academic files for students, residents and/or fellows, including rotations, evaluations, curriculum and other critical documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees all functions and responsibilities associated with the Pediatric Clerkship.
• Coordinates the Residency Scholars Program, including management of Program Letters of Agreement (PLAs), rotation tracking, and processing of reimbursements for resident stipends.
• Assists the Vice Chair of Education with initiatives to enhance educational opportunities for medical students within Pediatrics, including recruitment and retention strategies designed to attract UAB medical students to the Pediatric Residency Program.
• Collaborates with Pediatric Program Directors and the Program Manager to implement new ACGME requirements for residency rotations effective July.
• Plans, schedules, and tracks all required recertification courses for residents.
• Coordinates learning activities that integrate residents and medical students to support shared educational objectives.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
Salary range: $43,395 - $73,770
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may only substitute for education requirement if experience is related to the design, delivery and evaluation of resident, medical student, fellowship or clerkship educational programs.
Experience:
Experience performing complex clerical and administrative duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and creativity in resolving issues and supporting program objectives.
