CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR II - (T230597)

Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to coordinate and conduct study visits, procedures, and data collection related to clinical research ensuring adherence to protocols and ethical standards.

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.

  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.

  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Recruits, screens, and obtains informed consent from eligible participants and manages regulatory documentation, including IRB submissions and compliance activities.

  2. Maintains accurate and high-quality research data through diligent data entry and quality checks.

  3. Collaborates effectively with principal investigators, clinical staff, and research teams to facilitate study operations and protocol adherence.

  4. Supervises and mentors junior research personnel, providing guidance and oversight on research tasks.

  5. Contributes to team meetings, process improvements, and disseminates research findings through manuscript and presentation support.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related, social science, or research-related field preferred.
