Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR-NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION to assist with the design, implementation and evaluation of orientation programs for freshmen, transfer students and their parent/family members. To assist in managing and advising the Student Orientation staff, Orientation Leaders (OLs) and Orientation Leader Coordinators (OLCs). To assist with the administration of Parent/Family Orientation activities and various office administrative duties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the New Student Orientation (NSO) programs including Parent Programs.

2. Assists in monitoring monies budgeted for the OL program.

3. Monitors and maintains all aspects of the Orientation website in cooperation with university resources.

4. Ensures effective concepts, final editing and timely production of all Orientation printed materials, emails, and online learning modules.

5. Assists with the administration of Parent/Family Orientation activities.

6. Assists with various office administrative duties, and represents the office on university committees as needed.

7. Remains knowledgeable and up to date on current trends and best practices in New Student

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $43,890 - $45,000)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
