General Responsibilities:
Manages and has significant authority for financial operations of larger, more complex units. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following: develops and administers budgets and financial systems, projects revenue, space and facility planning, grants management, regulatory compliance. Monitors adherence to and follows established guidelines, policies and procedures for assigned unit. Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Establishes and maintains accurate financial management databases. Makes decisions regarding the reporting and use of financial resources. Provides financial guidance to assigned staff and appropriate University personnel and coordinates integration with University accounting system. May oversee billing and collections operations, including third party reimbursement and direct patient billing for some units. May manage revenue producing activity. May manage the entire or parts of the accounting function for assigned unit. Typically supervises office support and/or professional staff which could include hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline and, if necessary, discharge.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage departmental accounts.
Regularly review, manage, and reconcile General Ledger accounts.
Develop and manage budget.
Prepare monthly modified financial statement and ensure accounting standards are met.
Review and report expenditures.
Provide financial updates
Perform budget modifications, journal entries and cost transfers.
Assist in development of policies and procedures relating to administrative, fiscal, and operational functions.
Facilitate legal expense and agreement revenue cycles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences:
Ideal candidates should have strong financial management and budgeting skills, proficiency with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, or similar), and experience in financial reporting and analysis.
Soft skills include strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
