General Responsibilities:
To coordinate professional development training for various staff of the school districts in the region, including professional learning and foundational training, which presents significant, meaningful math and science content and models instructional strategies. To provide classroom and one-on-one training, and to provide opportunities for coaching with teachers or school-based instructional coaches. To develop and coordinate individual instruction materials and to provide on-site user support. Ascertains needs, researches, develops, coordinates and implements training programs, including Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) Preservice training which will be provided to Institutes of Higher Education (IHE) that partner with the AMSTI site. To design and write curriculum in coordination with Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Specialists. To update training manuals and maintain current educational materials. To maintain appropriate records, and to document the planning and implementation of all support instruction, professional development and event attendance, materials and activities for both summer trainings as well as on-going training during the academic year. To assist with the recruitment of new program participants. To participate in professional development activities and staff meetings at the site and state level as required.
Will provide on-site support to AMSTI teachers and math coaches, write and facilitate workshops that train teachers and coaches, and will provide month reports on their support.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Works with materials managers to make site-level decisions based on teacher needs/requests.
Provides feedback to the ALSDE regarding customization of kits and materials to make them teacher/classroom friendly.
Maintains records (including financials) and completes paperwork in a timely manner.
Participates in the development, maintenance, and promotion of AMSTI resources according to the resource development and PR requirements.
Communicates with AMSTI Site Director/PI and ALSDE in advance as it pertains to retirement or resignation plans.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the AMSTI Site Director or AMSTI-ALSDE.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $68,000 - $101,325
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Math or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
Current Alabama Teaching Certificate required.
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Education 6+ years of full-time verifiable teaching experience
Experience developing data-driven lessons for teachers Expertise in presenting workshops and trainings
Expertise in writing workshops, by-grade-level
Knowledge of the State Course of Study Must be proficient in basic computer skills

Must have a Valid Driver's License
Certified AMSTI Trainer is preferred
Master's degree in Education
