Description
Responsible for coordinating and/or administering certain clinical and patient services and for performing administrative duties in support of physician staff and operations. Responsible for the conduct of patient scheduling. Coordinates outpatient scheduling and facilitates in-patient pre-certification and admitting processes as necessary. Serves as an advocate for patient and patient family assisting patients and patient families with obtaining services and assistance available within the University or Birmingham community. Answers patient and patient family inquiries verbally or in writing. Assists in resolving patient problems. Follows up with patients and patient families regarding post-treatment/post-operative status. May supervise clerical staff.
Responsible for coordinating the patient check in/out process and/or administering certain clinical and patient services and for performing administrative duties in support of physician staff and operations.
Job Duties:
Coordinates scheduling for clinics including template management. Initiates template changes as needed to assist with clinic flow. Works with clinical staff to insure returning patients are scheduled appropriately and in a timely manner. Coordinates schedules of clinical providers changing/cancelling clinics as needed
Works with clinical staff, registration and triage staff and other office staff as needed as well as outside facilities to obtain medical record documents; and coordinating after care and follow up (return appointments) as directed by providers
Insures clinics are stocked with appropriate forms and information/handouts for patients and parents, as requested. Orders needed supplies and materials. Performs other administrative functions such as typing correspondence, editing forms, and filing

Maintains charts/records. Insures proper storage and scanning of materials generated in clinic.
Salary Range: $16.00 - $19.71
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
