The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Temporary Services is seeking a Temp Staffing Specialist to work under general supervision and according to established policies, procedures and in compliance with federal and state laws, to coordinate employment process for employment process for temporary staff. To
interface with user departments regarding staffing needs and to utilize the most effective sourcing
methods for identifying the best qualified applicants for temporary job vacancies.
Responsibilities:
Interfaces with user departments regarding staffing needs.
Identifies the best qualified applicants for job vacancies.
Reviews online applications for qualifications of candidates and refers qualified applicants to hiring
managers using online application system.
Maintains effective and timely communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the
hiring and onboarding processes.
Processes candidates for hire to temporary positions and facilitate temporary contract renewals.
Coordinates between candidates and hiring managers request for PTO and approvals.
Ensures all temporary staffing agreements are signed and processed in a timely manner.
Completes administrative tasks related to candidate onboarding and maintaining confidential
records associated with the employment process.
Maintains required documentation throughout process and metrics for reporting purposes.
Reports weekly updates to department of new hires as well as renewals.
Produces orientation list weekly for all onboarding purposes.
May be fully responsible for the hiring process of temporary staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and one (1) year of experience in employment/recruitment, including experience in interviewing/screening applicants, required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Previous experience working in Human Resources/Staffing Agency in a healthcare setting experience preferred
