Pay Range: $46,530.00 - $76,615.00 / year

Job Description:
To supervise pharmacy technician staff including, but not limited to, scheduling, training, evaluating and disciplining. To provide recommendation to manager regarding staff selection, promotion and termination. To perform supply and medication inventory control functions.
In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, the retail pharmacy team, clinic staff, and leadership to deliver exceptional patient care for our specialty pharmacy patients.
Responsibilities Include:
· Oversee daily operations of the Specialty Pharmacy Business Office, including benefits investigation, obtaining prior authorizations, coordinating insurance coverage, facilitating financial assistance for medications, managing patient refill calls, and other patient-centered activities.
· Ensure the UAB Business Office complies with all pharmacy practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
· Collaborate with leadership across Specialty Pharmacy and Ambulatory teams to support and achieve departmental goals.
· Provide coverage as a floater within the PCC schedule when needed.
· Foster positive patient outcomes through consistent and effective communication between patients and the pharmacy team.
· Lead recruitment efforts and coordinate comprehensive training for new department hires.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
