The Program Coordinator II will support HIV education and technical support programs for the Southeast AIDS Education Training Center (AETC) and the Southeast HIV/STI Prevention Center. The Program Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating educational activities, clinical consultation and technical assistance to healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations to integrate state-of-the-science in prevention of HIV and comprehensive care for those living with or affected by HIV. The program coordinator will work in collaboration with AETC and SE PTC team members.
Essential Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature.
Coordinate learning events related to HIV care and prevention in a variety of formats (i.e., virtual-lectures, symposia, workshops, preceptorships, newsletters, and other learning events) and for varied healthcare audiences.
Collaborate with faculty educators to develop in person and virtual, synchronous, and asynchronous training presentations and events to educate the HIV workforce.
Coordinate clinical case consultations and coaching for healthcare providers in the management and prevention of HIV.
Coordinate group clinical consultations to build skills in HIV care delivery and prevention.
Provide HIV coaching for capacity building and technical assistance to facilitate organizational improvement in HIV prevention and HIV care delivery.
Attend and actively participate in required teleconferences, calls, in person events with the SE AETC Central Office, National Network of PTCs, and other partners.
Complete and submit continuing medical education applications to obtain credit for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Dentists, substance abuse professionals and social workers.
Create marketing initiatives and coordinate online event registration and evaluation.
Help with creation of annual progress reports, budgets, and budget justifications for funding agencies.
Contribute to the creation and submission of monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and ad hoc reports as required by funding agencies.
Collect required participant information forms (PIF) and evaluations from learning events and manage data entry and upload to central office.
Help with submission of PIFs and evaluations to the SE AETC and the NNPTC per their requirements.
Develop relationships with partner institutions and organizations.
Conduct research surrounding resource availability within the South and use this data to guide program development.
Develop relationships with rural providers, and create educational events directed specifically towards their service areas.
Coordinate meetings with local and regional organizations to offer services and maintain relationships.
Carries out established program objectives and directives.
Follows established guidelines or protocols.
Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments.
May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives.
May supervise support staff.
May act as a communication liaison and special events planner.
Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students.
May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties. May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission.

Hourly Range:$18.35-$29.80
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

The AETC Program is the cornerstone of the Health Resources and Services Administration's HIV/AIDS program. Its mission is to increase the number of health care providers who are effectively educated and motivated to counsel, diagnose, treat, and medically manage people with HIV, and to help prevent the transmission and acquisition of HIV. AETC meets its mission by implementing multidisciplinary education and training programs for health care providers in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and thereby increasing the capacity of providers and organizations to implement quality care. The Southeast STI Prevention and Training Center (PTC) is a regional collaboration between a group of nationally respected experts in STI training and research. The center is comprised of faculty and staff from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), the University of North Carolina (UNC), the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) and the North Carolina Department of Health (NCDOH). Utilizing faculty from each collaborating institution it provides regional STI/HIV prevention training for the Southern Region of the United States.
