Are you passionate about recruitment, building relationships, and helping others succeed? UAB is looking for a Human Resources Staffing Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team. This individual will support university-wide hiring by partnering with departments to meet staffing needs and deliver high-quality candidates through a consistent and compliant process.
Under general supervision and in accordance with UAB policies, procedures, and federal/state employment laws, the Staffing Specialist will coordinate full-cycle recruitment, provide expert consultation to hiring departments, and contribute to a positive and efficient hiring experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the employment process through the university’s applicant tracking system.
Partner with departments to understand staffing needs and recommend sourcing strategies.
Identify, screen, and refer qualified applicants to hiring managers for consideration.
Conduct interviews, assess qualifications, and maintain appropriate documentation throughout the process.
Track recruitment metrics for reporting and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance to departments on recruitment best practices and help resolve staffing challenges.
May be responsible for hiring temporary employees, conducting new employee orientation, participating in job fairs, and supervising support personnel.
Pay Range: $47,665 – $50,000
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience is required.
Note: Work experience may not substitute for the education requirement.
Certifications: None required.
