RESEARCHER ASSISTANT

This position will contribute to the daily operations of various research projects under the supervision of Dr. Patel and her group's various team members. This role involves performing standard research tasks, including study coordination support, basic data cleaning and analysis, supporting the writing of reports and manuscripts, and maintaining accurate records. The support will be crucial in helping senior team members execute complex protocols and ensuring the smooth functioning of the group.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Study coordination and data analysis for the studies
- Collect, record, and/or analyze research data with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain data QC reports, including study enrollment and follow-up visits
- Advise technicians and assistants, supervising their activities as needed
- Lead and consultant in writing and editing grant proposals, research protocols, and data collection documents
- Design and modify new study procedures and protocols
- Implement systems that promote efficiency and timeliness across all studies
- May involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens
- Crucial in helping senior team members execute complex protocols and ensuring the smooth functioning of the lab
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- General computer proficiency with emphasis on proficiency in data analysis tools preferred: SPSS, SAS, JMP
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of the Box cloud storage system
- Knowledge of scientific writing practices
- Knowledge of research methodology
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to accumulate, analyze, and interpret study data
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Leadership skills
Hourly Range:$16.50- $18.00
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree in a related field
- OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
