As a Researcher Senior, you will have expanded responsibilities, overseeing complex or multiple research projects and providing strategic direction. This professional-level role involves mentoring junior researchers, managing project budgets, and ensuring the integrity and quality of research outcomes. Your expertise will be critical in guiding experimental design, data interpretation, and contributing to high-impact publications. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Under the supervision from PI and others, the successful candidate will perform experiments focusing on stem cell research in vitro and lead a project(s) with other staff scientists. The successful candidate will also contribute to other projects through assisting trainees (e.g., postdoctoral fellows, graduate students) and faculty in the lab. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to stem cell research and apply techniques including adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and differentiation, gene editing in vitro and in vivo. The specific techniques include, but not limited to, cell culture, flow cytometry and cell sorting, DNA/RNA/protein extraction and quantification, histology, microscopy.
Position Summary:

As a Researcher, you will play a key role in driving scientific discovery by independently leading and executing research projects. This professional-level position demands a high degree of expertise and judgement in designing studies, analyzing data, and may involve assistants in publishing findings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and contribute to grant writing and securing funding for future research. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Sets up and performs experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.
- Contributes to planning/design of studies.
- Collects, enters, summarizes and analyzes data.
- Monitors results, detects and reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications.
- May assist in planning long or short term goals/fiscal management.
- Performs maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $60,835- $70,000
Qualifications
Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred:
- Have a PhD degree in science related field.
- Expertise in human cell culture and aseptic handling as well as basic molecular and cellular biology technique.
- Significant experience with adult stem cell or ES/iPSC culture.
- Applicants who have experience with flow cytometry or FACS as well as basic research histology and microscopic technique.
- Ability to work with high degree of independence, frequently uses discretion and independent judgment in the design, execution, and troubleshoot of tasks.
- Initiative responsibility for the assigned project(s)
- Overall leadership of the assigned project(s)
- Ability to work as a team and with a diverse group of people, and to supervise and manage lab operations and junior staff and trainees.
