Pay Range: $15.00 - $23.55 / hour

Job Description:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), to provide compassionate patient care in the hospital emergency room by working with doctors and nurses, and providing some of the routine care involved in treating patients. To prepare patients for examinations/treatments. To assist in collection of patient history and ensure confidentiality of records. This role will assist in transporting patients via ambulance between facilities in accordance to the hospitals standards. The employee will operate medical equipment, communicate with medical personnel during transport, document patient care and transport information. They will professionally communicate to all members of the health care team and, communicate in a compassionate manner to patients, families and visitors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of EMT or EMT-Paramedic experience is required. Currently licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) by the Alabama Department of Public Health's (ADPH) Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
