Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Ophthalmology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Conducts information research.
  2. Collects data and interprets it in accordance with established procedures.
  3. Performs routine analyses and prepares reports in prescribed format.
  4. Provides data management support.
  5. Prepares case report forms and verifies the accuracy of data entry.
  6. Performs quality assurance checks.
  7. Maintains the study's compliance with institutional requirements.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferences

  • Degree in biology, biochemistry, or other related science degree.
  • The candidate should be detail-oriented, have experience/familiarity with clinical research trials, and work well with a team or alone.
