PROJECT ANALYST: HARBERT INSTITUTE FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HIIE) seeks a Project Analyst. The successful candidate will work with researchers, scientists, and clinicians at UAB to review and advise all research and development projects to identify new intellectual property. To develop summaries of the scientific content to present and communicate research findings, foster collaborations, and develop strategic partnerships between academia and industry to translate academic research and development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interfaces with researchers, scientists, and clinicians at UAB to review and advise on all research and development projects and to orient on HIIE missions and functions
- Analyzes grants and market trends to convey opportunities to researchers, scientists, and clinicians
- Analyzes the work of scientists and research staff, including initial review of inventions disclosed from a translational perspective, and reading and synthesizing scientific and patent literature on the specific research topic
- Maps pathways to identify new opportunities to license technologies to companies for further development.
- Communicates project results and research data to internal Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HIIE) staff and management, as well as external stakeholders such as investors and industry partners
- Oversees the internship program at HIIE for graduate student interns
- Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary: $60,835-$75,705
Qualifications
Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology, Immunology or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
Preferred Qualifications
- Possesses a strong understanding of scientific research methodologies and the ability to analyze market trends
