Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Endodontics, is seeking a skilled Researcher II.

General Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, to set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
  • To collect, enter and summarize data.
  • To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Managing all lab procedures and lab orders.
  2. Performing animal husbandry, genotyping, and experiments with animals.
  3. Processing human samples and experiments related to human samples.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $15.50-$18.45

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in related field OR Associate's degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Molecular Biology techniques including PCR, Genotyping, Western blotting. ELISA, immunostaining.
  • Histology sectioning.
  • Animal husbandry and performing animal surgeries.
  • In vitro tissue culture techniques.
  • Working with primary cell lines both human and mouse.
  • Previous experience is recommended especially in animal work and molecular biology.
  • Studying Development of B cells in human and the interaction of early B cells and skeletal system in human and mouse.
