Job Summary:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an Office Services Specialist III to join the UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center. Under minimal supervision, this role will perform department-specific office and clerical duties of a moderately complex nature. Responsibilities include managing communications, date entry, managing department emails, gathering and interpreting data for detailed reports, and assisting with day-to-day operations. The role may also involve directing the work of other clerical employees, client scheduling, and handling confidential human resources-related information. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate appointments for EAP counselors and clients.
- Greet clients, provide information about EAP services, and assist with intake processes.
- Input and update client information in the EAP EHR, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Assist in planning and organizing mental health and well-being workshops, seminars, and other EAP events.
- Gather and interpret data to construct detailed reports.
- Assist with ordering and managing office supplies, ensuring the office is well-stocked and organized.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, program activities, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide leadership in a clerical capacity by directing the work of other office staff.
- Must be able to handle crisis and urgent situations according to department standard operating procedures for administrative staff.
Salary Range:
$29,120 - $43,990
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Four (4) years of related experience required.
