PROJECT MANAGER II – RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT
This position will provide support the delivery of resources available through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Research Development Office. The Project Manager will assist faculty in using available enterprise-wide resources to locate funding mechanisms, administratively manage the RDO’s InfoReady software instance and assist in organizing various internal competitions. This position will also provide organizational support to UAB’s Centers and Institutes ecosystem.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serves as the main InfoReady administrator for the Research Development Office. InfoReady is software that consolidates form building, application and document collection, routing, review, notification, and reporting into a centralized web-based platform for UAB. Support system uses such as limited submission opportunities, internal seed grants, pilots, and annual center and institute progress reporting
- Serves as the primary administrator for the UAB Centers and Institutes, including the annual progress report process and new center policies and procedures
- Coordinates with other efforts across campus to maintain an enterprise-wide webpage presence in regard to available grantsmanship resources, such as grant writing training programs. Provides information and liaison services for faculty seeking grant writing and research development skills support. May coordinate internal grant writing training program
- Improves proposal-writing results by connecting faculty with the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) Panels Program and other such efforts across campus. Develops presentations and seminars on research development-related topics such as proposal development, searching for funding, writing processes, and composition skills
- Gathers and analyzes data on RDO outreach metrics and effectiveness and recommends improvements to extend reach and participation
- Performs other duties as assigned
Annual Salary: $52,550-$85,400 (salary is commensurate with experience)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience working with large data sets for annual reports, extensive knowledge, and proficiency of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, and electronic data capturing programs such as RED CAP and Qualtrics.
- Ability to research related topics using resources such as PIVOT, Dimensions, NIH Reporter, IRAP, and NSF HERD data.
- Mature and effective interpersonal skills, possess, critical thinking, organizational assessment, and time management skills.
- Possession of outstanding written and verbal communication, with a particular emphasis on web communication.
