The University of Alabama at Birmingham
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Records Management Specialist III to work in the Office of Advancement with the Gift and Biographical Records team. This position is a key member of the UAB Advancement Offices, responsible for processing gifts, gift acknowledgements, receipts, and reminders, and maintaining giving and biographical information in Advancement systems with the highest level of accuracy
The Records Management Specialist III will report directly to the Associate Director of Gift and Records Administration in the Office of Advancement.
This position is a full-time on campus position.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate and timely collection, input and processing of gifts into the CRM (Ellucian Advance) donor database, adhering to the UAB Gift Acceptance policies, CASE standards, and IRS guidelines
- Conduct data entry and retrieval of all gift types including, but not limited to: cash, checks, credit card gifts, pledges, gifts of stock, gifts-in-kind, estate distributions, planned gifts, payroll deduction
- Create and oversee proper accounting of all gift modifications as required, including adjustments to gift transactions in coordination with UAB Finance
Annual Salary: $41,175 - $47,000
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- 3 years of data processing experience or equivalent work experience in computerized records management
- Work experience can substitute for education requirement
- Advanced understanding of office methods, procedures, practices
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Bookkeeping or accounting knowledge
- Highly detail oriented
- Awareness of time management and deadlines
- Proficiency in computer literacy and basic business applications, such as Microsoft Office including Excel
- Basic knowledge of financial systems and processes
- Ability to learn and apply financial skills and concepts
- Ability to draft professional e-mails, memos, business letters, and reports
- Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to other departments and donors.
- Ability to participate as part of a project team
- Effective interpersonal skills
