Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a DIRECTOR-TECHNICAL-ALYS STEPHENS CENTER to ensure that all needs related to equipment, lighting and sound required to produce all programs at the Alys Stephens Center (ASC), other related rentals or activities are efficiently evaluated and executed. To determine the necessary annual technical department budget to meet the needs of production, to responsibly steward the assets of UAB within this scope and to establish and maintain proper processes in order to successfully manage labor and equipment. To provide evaluation and input as to the technical needs and viability of proposed events during strategic planning for future events. To hire, train, manage and coordinate technical staff, outside part-time labor and students needed to produce all programs.
This position also serves as the immediate supervisor and director of the Technical Team at UAB Arts. It is responsible for ensuring the sound, lighting, equipment and backstage operations of all programming, events, and concerts are of standard and quality for UAB Arts.
(Annual Salary: $52,555 - $85,400)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in production, theater, lighting, technical, or arts discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in addition to degree, but work experience can substitute degree if greater than ten (10+) years and supervisory role.
