The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine seeks to hire a Manager - Quality Improvement to effectively manage quality processes promoting compliance and best practices. This position will be responsible for managing clinical documentation processes, process improvement efforts, regulatory and safety procedures, staff education, and maintaining external collaborations with hospital entities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage workflow, benchmarking, and clinical outcome reviews through our Informatics and Quality Outcomes team particularly in the interfacing with frontline care partners.
- Manager will also receive patient safety reports, delegate reviews, manage workgroups, develop consensus recommendations, and present such to Director for consideration. Manager will additionally develop and deliver quality-related educational content on an as-needed basis.
- Lead quality initiatives and collaborate with external entities and hospital leadership regarding quality, education, and regulatory processes.
- Maintain Anesthesiology and MPOG databases as well as manage local and multicenter clinical data to recommend process improvement.
- Facilitate quality initiatives utilizing MPOG data and functions as a subject matter expert regarding clinical documentation.
- Devise action plans and make appropriate recommendations regarding quality processes to improve efficiencies and maintain best practices.
- Establish collaborative relationships with external hospitals and participate in efforts that result in improved health resource utilization and enhanced perioperative clinical practice.
- Participate in routine administrative meetings to present data trends and outcomes as well as serve on various committees regarding ongoing quality improvement efforts.
- Direct functions associated with Perioperative Risk Optimization and Management Planning Tools (PROMPTs) as well summarize literature and develop education materials.
- Create quality reports and implement change processes.
- Manage internal and external data reporting processes and develop processes focusing on clinical outcomes research.
- Manage clinical documentation and design quality tools.
- Utilize methods to perform root cause analysis.
- Participate in research projects, measure process adherence and patient outcomes, and create programs for quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
MSN RN with 7 plus year of experience
Salary Range: $81,525 - $132,475
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related field
- And seven (7) years of related experience required including experience as a nurse educator and as an RN in a Perioperative area required.
- Experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- CNOR certification required.
