The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Radiology Chair Office, is seeking a Researcher I. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn something new. The candidate will support the research team and should work well with others.

General Responsibilities

Under direct supervision:

• To perform various support functions in a research laboratory.
• To maintain equipment, computer database and lab supplies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Performs various support functions in a research laboratory using appropriate procedures to generate and validate data of sufficient quality for project development, publications and grant submissions.
2. Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility.
3. Maintains and restocks supplies.
4. Maintains computer database.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Salary Range $15.00 - $19.66

• Associate's degree in a related field
• OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

• BS in microbiology
