PRE-CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST-STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES

To review databases and other pertinent documentation to ensure all needed pre-certifications and/or authorizations are complete for appropriate medical services throughout the clinic. The ideal candidate should have experience working within a fast-paced healthcare facility and understand the working knowledge of front desk/receptionist duties and medical terminology. Lastly, the ideal candidate should know health insurance terms and utilization, eligibility and benefits, referral knowledge, basic clerical duties, and demonstrate exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate pre-certifications and/or authorizations are obtained for radiologic studies ordered at SHS
• Ensure timely scheduling of radiologic studies, communication of these appointments to students, and timely retrieval of results and communication of results to ordering providers
• Serves as a resource and consultant concerning pre-certifications, authorizations, and appropriate reimbursement issues
• Performs other duties as assigned

Hourly Wage Range: $15.00-$24.40

High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience is required
