Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Institute for Cancer Outcomes & Survivorship, is seeking a Clinical Research Administrator II.
General Responsibilities
- To demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contract principles, federal regulations, laws and UAB policy and operating procedures.
- To serve as liaison to the UAB Offices of Industry Engagement and Sponsored Programs in negotiation of confidentiality agreements (CDAs), contracts, and amendments related to the conduct of clinical research activities.
- To identify conflicts of interest, legal, IP and business/financial risk.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as liaison to the UAB Offices of Industry Engagement and Sponsored Programs in negotiating confidentiality agreements (CDAs), contracts, and amendments related to the conduct of clinical research activities.
- Assists colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving processes.
- Supervises CRA I positions.
- For the Institute Director and Deputy Director, maintains faculty/research calendars; arranges and coordinates travel; processes reimbursements/payments.
- Assists in managing accounts across studies as needed.
- Works with sponsors/study team to arrange required trainings and meetings.
- Assists in formulating and implementing the goals for the operation of the research program.
- Assists in preparing, developing, reviewing, and adhering to internal research, education, and program-specific budgets for consistency with UAB policies and operating procedures.
- Ensures faculty memberships, licenses, and research-related documents/approvals are current and in good standing.
- Conducts literature reviews.
- Assesses and determines solutions for operational shortcomings of protocols.
- Attends regularly scheduled ICOS meetings such as bi-weekly update meetings, seminar series, etc.
- Maintains familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
- Performs other duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the research team.
Annual Salary Range: $47,665 - $77,455
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement
