Position Summary
- Oversees the internal division training and development of FA employees and management. Manages the UAB campus training for division-related systems, policies, and procedures.
- Manages division's positions and compensation plan and assists with the annual budget process. Oversees the FA website, as well as internal and external communication.
- Manages the hiring, training, and management actions related to the FA Administrative Systems Instructors.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- To direct the administrative and operational affairs of a functional area and speaks on its behalf.
- To operate with a high degree of independence.
- To oversee and analyze/forecast content and administration of respective area.
- To establish objectives, manage fiscal activities, and supervise and direct staff, where applicable.
- To prepare and present various reports.
- To assist with strategic planning in functional areas, including but not limited to Communications, Research Operations, Finance, Facilities, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Business or a related field.
- Candidates must meet minimum qualifications.
- Minimum qualifications- 5-7 years of experience in Finance and grant management, specifically post-award grant management.
- Financial management and personnel leadership

- Fiscal planning
- Analytic skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Team management expertise
- Effective communicator
- Preferred skills - Oracle, Lawson and Axiom experience.
Salary Range: $67,070 - $108,990
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Public Administration or a related field
- And five (5) years of related experience required
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
