ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR-DOM

Position Summary

  • Oversees the internal division training and development of FA employees and management. Manages the UAB campus training for division-related systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Manages division's positions and compensation plan and assists with the annual budget process. Oversees the FA website, as well as internal and external communication.
  • Manages the hiring, training, and management actions related to the FA Administrative Systems Instructors.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • To direct the administrative and operational affairs of a functional area and speaks on its behalf.
  • To operate with a high degree of independence.
  • To oversee and analyze/forecast content and administration of respective area.
  • To establish objectives, manage fiscal activities, and supervise and direct staff, where applicable.
  • To prepare and present various reports.
  • To assist with strategic planning in functional areas, including but not limited to Communications, Research Operations, Finance, Facilities, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Business or a related field.
  • Candidates must meet minimum qualifications.
  • Minimum qualifications- 5-7 years of experience in Finance and grant management, specifically post-award grant management.
  • Financial management and personnel leadership

  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Team management expertise
  • Effective communicator
  • Preferred skills - Oracle, Lawson and Axiom experience.

Salary Range: $67,070 - $108,990

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Public Administration or a related field
  • And five (5) years of related experience required
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
