The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Infectious Diseases, is seeking a Researcher II.
General Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision:
- To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
- To collect, enter and summarize data.
- To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
- Runs assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc.
- Collects, enters, and summarizes data.
- Monitors results; detects and reports unusual outcomes.
- Assists in the maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment and supplies.
- Performs basic statistical data analysis.
- Human sample processing.
- Conducts immune assays, data analysis. and presentation.
- Lab maintenance and sample management under minimal supervision while also performing some assignments independently.
- Participates in lab meetings and scientific discussions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Salary Range $15.50 - $23.51
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
