Position Summary:
The UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Urology is seeking an Education Coordinator to join one of the strongest clinical programs in the country, providing robust training for residents and fellows.
The program provides training in all facets of the specialty. This position requires a commitment to teamwork, exceptional communication and to a high quality of work and initiative. Due to a fast-paced environment, the position requires great flexibility and composure while efficiently meeting deadlines. As a liaison to the Education Administrator, the Education Coordinator will serve as a point of direction for educational and operational activities concerning medical students, residents, and fellows. Primarily, maintaining records, schedules, and program information overseeing office associate efforts and responsibility. The success of this position will be monitored and mentored by the Education Administrator, who has years of experience in graduate medical education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as primary ACGME and UAB GME contact for the department non-ACGME accredited fellowship programs and ensures compliance with all national and university-related accreditation and policy requirements.
- Manages the electronic residency management software for these programs.
- Assist in formation of budgets as needed
- Ensures adherence to set budget and provides updates as needed.
- Maintain data on resident spending and reimbursements.
- Collects and tracks fellow, faculty, and program data; generates detailed reports as required by accrediting and overseeing entities; disseminates these reports appropriately (ACGME, UAB GME, AAMC, FREIDA, AUA, SAU, ABU, department, etc.).
- Coordinates processes for the Residency Program's recruitment season, including registration in ERAS, screening and exporting of applications for directors, inviting/scheduling applicants, creating itineraries and communication pieces, managing day-of-schedule, ranking applicants and communicating match results to leadership and department.
- Manages foreign, national and local visiting and rotating medical students onboarding and off-boarding.
- Manages and oversees new resident onboarding and orientation; works with Program Director and Associate Program Director to coordinate orientation activities to ensure all residents are on-boarded appropriately according to national, state, institutional, and department standards.
- Works with CME Office to ensure compliance with CME documentation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $19.80 - $32.15
Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
