This position will assist the CFAR Director, the CFAR Associate Director, and CFAR Program Director with the administration of multiple federal and privately funded program projects in HIV/AIDS research.

This position requires strong communication skills to assist with grant preparations and reporting requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary. Correspondence with HIV researchers and the ability to manage tasks independently under general supervision is required. Management of the center's website, newsletter, and social media accounts including creation of content and engagement will be a part of the position. The candidate should have experience planning and hosting large conferences and meetings. The position will require the ability to collect and analyze data reflecting programmatic outcomes for reporting to federal partners. A suitable candidate should possess a professional attitude, a strong work ethic and be comfortable working in teams with defined deadlines.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature.
  • Carries out established program objectives and directives.
  • Follows established guidelines or protocols.
  • Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments.
  • May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives.
  • May supervise support staff.
  • May act as a communication liaison and special events planner.
  • Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students.
  • May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties.
  • May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission.
  • May handle data management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics

  • Advanced writing skills
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Must be able to work independently and follow instructions under general supervision
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Understanding of scientific language, techniques and clinical terms

Hourly Range: $18.35-29.80

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • And one (1) year of related experience required.
  • OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
