The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Immunology/Rheumatology is seeking a Researcher I.

General Responsibilities

Under direct supervision:

• To perform various support functions in a research laboratory.
• To maintain equipment, computer database and lab supplies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Sets up and performs routine and establishes lab procedures in support of lab goals.
2. Orders lab supplies.
3. Processes bill payments.
4. Maintains research documentation, training documentation, and equipment inventory.
5. Manages and works with mouse colonies.
6. Preparation of audit labs.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Salary Range $15.00 - $16.82

• Associate's degree in a related field
• OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

• Basic science background such as college science courses required.
• Previous experience with working with mice preferred.
